| I've had a lot of cars, and class myself as a petrolhead. I had a Mk 2 Escort van in which I had fitted a 2.0 litre engine from a Capri. Used to upset the XR3i boys with that lol. My Capri mk1 which, you can't quite tell from the pic, had a 5.0 (305 cu in) Chevy V8 fitted by me. Uprated the front with 2.8 injection suspension and all the engine mounts were fabricated by yours truly. I also owned this baby.. originall 4.2 litre straight 6, I rebuilt a 350 cu in (5.7 litre) Chevy V8 with some extra goodies (cams, headers, 4 barrel holley and big valve heads and a complete rebuild) and slipped it in to give it some go. I also fitted a mk 2 Capri with a Rover 3.5 litre V8 but that was very disappointing. My current ride is my 1976 Z750 twin motorcycle which can be seen in my introduction. | |

| Dunno about a brief history of my cars....ive had a few,,, but then again im old enough to have had this many. Here we go then, as far as i can remember. 1975 Golf 1100N, 1975 Mk 1 Escort 1300 GT 1977 Mk 2 Capri 2000 GL 1984 Mk 3 Escort Estate 1.3L 19xx Mk 2 Scirroco 1500 CL Back to capri as crashed scirroco before sold capri (lol) 1982 Mk 1 Fiesta XR2. 1987 Ford Sierra Estate 1.8 1975 Mk 1 Fiesta 1.0 (had 1 day) 1989 Citroen BX 1.9 D 1991 Pug 309 1.9GTI 1991 Escort diesel van 2000 Focus 2.0 Zetec NEW 2005 Fiesta 1.4 TDCI NEW 2008 Fiesta 1.6 TDCI Zetec S...... Think i got em all. As you can see... a varied selection. Cars are a means of getting from A to B for me. Bikes were my main form of transport most of the time. (always had 2 vehicles uptill 2005. Last bke was a Kawasaki ZX9R with 0-60 in 3 seconds and top speed 170+mph. . With that spec for £4k second hand, why spend £50k+ on a car to match it!! So threre we have it. Best car was 2 litre focus but drank petrol ike it was going out of fashion. | |

| Some very cool cars guys, my list isnt quite so long. When I was 16, my car was the family conversion van, a 1978 Chevy, with conversion by T.E.C., it had an 8-track and got a full 8 MPG city diving. At 19 I bought my first car a 1982 Audi Coupe. FWD with 100hp, it was quick and oh soo cool compared to the van. Two year later it was T-boned by a Jag and I was car less until after college. I bought mom 1980 honda accord and drove it til it died. I was planning on getting a new car in the fall so beginning of summer didnt hurt too bad. I bought my first only new car a 1993 Jeep Cherokee Sport . It has the 4.0 liter 6 with 4WD and 2 doors. I was bullet proof, 185,xxx miles when I sold her. Besides normal maintenence, I replaced the tires 3x, front brakes 2x, rear once and replaced the water pump. The raditor was going when sold, but I sold it so far north id never be an issue. Ten years ago I bought my current baby, a 1983 Audi Quattro Turbo. Yep an UrQuattro, one of 667 imported to the states. Mine is a fairly early model, it rolled off the line July 10th, 1982. The motor was bad when I bought it, the aftermarket tubro boast had roasted the first cylinder. The shop I brought it too did a motor swap, putting in a MC1, which Ive chipped with a stage 1.5 from Intended Acceleration. It had been autocrossed before I bought it, so it was already lowered and stiffened up. I had the AC pulled since it didnt work and a raditor system from the 80-90 series and a hi-flow exhust. Yokohama all around, and I have a very fun back road burner! Lapping at B.I.R. (Brainerd International raceway). My daily driver is an '95 A6 Avant Quattro. | |

Yes and yes! It has rear plates installed only, it was originally imported to Oklahoma, where front plates are not required. It is so rare no one has the heart to drill into the front bumper, I put the plates in the window for the road, but I need to get a vinyl copy made and just stick that on the front. one of the guys in the audi club did that with his A6. BTW Its me in the top driving in the top photo, the other, Dad is schooling the Evo! The track is Brainerd international raceway, about 2.5 hours NW of the Twin Cities. The Photos were taken a few years back to celebrate the Audi Club of North Americas 20th year. ACNA was founded on that track. | |
